Aszú, 2017

A wine of substance showing notes of peach, quince, candied citrus and honey. The elegantly restrained notes of Christmas spice and tea leaves beautifully complement this wine of round acidity and soft contours.

Grapes from our own, certified organic production. Hand-harvesting 100% botrytised Furmint grapes “raisins”, collected into boxes during October and early November 2017. Soaking the collected Aszú berries in the Aszú-base wine for one week. Fermentation without adding artificial yeast and ageing in 200 l Medium toasted Zemplén oak barrels for 18 months. Fined, filtered, added sulphur: 200 mg/l.
